Windows 8: the beta release by February
Windows 8 Beta will not be announced at CES in Las Vegas. The Windows Store, however, will be shown Dec. 6.
The beta release of Windows 8 will be announced by February 2012. The exact date but there is dissenting views. According to previous rumors, in fact, the presentation of the public beta should have taken place in early January during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Unlike the Developer Preview, available in September and aimed primarily at developers, the beta version of Windows 8 will be feature complete, that will integrate all the functionality that users will find the final version. Considering the roadmap of Windows 7 as a reference, the RTM (Release To Manufacturing) of the next Microsoft operating system expected to arrive in June, while the final version it can be assumed as the period from September to October most likely.
Before the beta version, the Redmond Company will announce a very important component for Windows 8: The Windows Store. The event was organized in San Francisco on 6 December, the same day where you will deploy the new Xbox 360 dashboard. The Windows Store is the only store of Metro applications. Users can log on to the virtual store using their account, buy, try and download applications designed for the new user interface.
Additional software should not be lacking the event in Las Vegas in January. At this date, as there is the presentation of the beta version of Office 15, another important element that will be part of that unique ecosystem planned by Microsoft and definitely in 2012 will land on the market piece by piece.
