Smartphones: Panasonic returns to Europe
Panasonic may come into the European market for smartphones in March 2012, with a new ultra-slim Android phone with 4.3 inch screen.
Panasonic will launch several new Android smartphones in Europe from March 2012. Five years after leaving the international market phones, the manufacturer back on their steps and want to expand its global presence with the arrival of a number of terminals that are available across Europe than in North America.
The manufacturer has also officially presented the first model of smartphones, taken as a reference for the return of this market segment: it is an Android smartphone with 4.3-inch OLED screen and QHD resolution (960 × 540 pixels) specially designed for the European market. It is slim, waterproof, dustproof and has the NFC. It will be available in black or silver, but still has no official name and is not known which version of Android will complement, but it was explained that a device is intended for professional age between 30 and 40.
Panasonic sees the European market as the first step for re-internationalize their activities in the mobile field, after throwing only occurred in recent years in Japan. Expected by 2016 to sell a total of nine million smartphones out of the Japanese territory, or between Europe, Asia, USA and China in particular, plus another 6 million units sold in its home market.
