Google is working on the third version of the Google TV and would enter into agreements with LG; the debut is scheduled for the second half of the year.
Google update Google TV in the coming months and is working to further expand the possibilities of software sales in an attempt to achieve more consistent than those obtained from this service when it launched in 2010. For the next version of the software, the Mountain View based company has already begun to enter into negotiations necessary to tie LG as Google TV partners.
According to what stated at CES 2012 in Las Vegas, Rishi Chandra, Director of product management at Google in Mountain View, there are intentions to discontinue work on Google TV, but rather it is good to expect an update annually. The third version of the software will be available in the second half of this year and apparently will be so many new features, but has not yet been announced which ones.
In addition to the partnership with in-service content via OnLive cloud, Google would like to side of LG for the third version of Google TV. The Korean company would be best suited to build a set compatible with the Google TV product, as announced by two anonymous sources, but with knowledge of the project. The partnership between LG and Google should follow in the footsteps of the handshake occurred between the giant Mountain View, Samsung and HTC for Android smartphones of the Nexus series. No decision has yet been made; however, as pointed out by a spokesman for LG, but Google has refused to comment.
